What to Expect

We are committed to helping you address your mental health crisis and navigating community resources. This is our typical approach to providing you with care.

Scheduling

  1. Contact us at 859-309-8737 to schedule an appointment
  2. You can reach us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our answering service.
  3. We aim to schedule this appointment within 48 hours. In some cases, we may not be able to meet with you immediately (weekends, holidays, illness, etc), but we understand the importance and will get you scheduled at the earliest. Sometimes, we can schedule you the same day you call.

Intake Visit:

This visit will include a psychosocial evaluation by a mental health professional. The evaluation helps us understand what brought you in and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

To help us understand your situation, you will be asked to fill out intake forms and screening questionnaires.

Case Management:

During your first visit, you will also meet a case manager who will follow you through the process. In addition to guiding you in scheduling ongoing appointments, your case manager will identify resources in the community.

Treatment plans and provider recommendations will be discussed with you. Oliver Winston’s case manager is your primary contact during your transition to long-term care.

Provider Visit:

Additional diagnostic assessments and medication management will be provided by Oliver Winston’s Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner after your intake evaluation is completed.

This visit includes a discussion of medications as well as recommendations for starting new medications, refilling existing medications, or monitoring side effects.

Follow up:

Your case manager will help you develop your treatment goals once you have completed both your Intake and Psychiatric Evaluation. If you are experiencing medication issues, please call our front office team, who will reach out to your provider.

If you require urgent/emergent attention, you should call 911/988 or present to an emergency room right away.
