  • What kind of services do you provide?

    We provide a full range of mental health services by offering psychiatric, individual, family, and group counseling, case management services, and substance abuse treatment.

  • Do you treat ADHD?

    Absolutely, the Oliver Winston staff is trained and experienced at providing best-practice approaches to treating all types of mental and behavioral disorders.

  • Do you treat depression?

    Yes, the staff at Oliver Winston is trained and experienced at providing best-practice treatments to help people overcome mental health issues such as depression and to help each and every client become the best version of themselves.

  • Do you treat substance use?

    Yes, at Oliver Winston we provide a full gauntlet of services for substance abuse.  This treatment is individually tailored to your needs and ranges from Suboxone services, individual & group counseling, case management, and psychoeducational resources.

  • Do you provide detox services?

    Yes, as part of our full-range of substance abuse services we provide outpatient detox service.

  • I'm having suicidal thoughts. Can you help?

    Suicidal ideations are a common occurrence for a range of issues people may face in their life.  Even though Oliver Winston treats many of the internal and external issues that can cause suicidal thoughts and there is help to be had if you are one of the many people suffering from such a dilemma, this type of symptomology has the potential for intense, immediate, emergent psychiatric and medical needs of which Oliver Winston may not be equipped to handle.   • What kind of service provider will be treating me at Oliver Winston?

    At Oliver Winston, we have on staff a multitude of different providers to ensure you get the holistic treatment that everyone needs and deserves, including Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, licensed case managers, and board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists for our Suboxone program.

  • Do you provide naloxone?

    Yes, naloxone is one of the many tools we may incorporate in our substance abuse treatment program that we offer.

  • Will you keep my visit confidential?

    Absolutely. At Oliver Winston, your privacy is one of our utmost concerns.  Without trust and knowing you can speak openly and privately, the rapport needed to harness the healing potential of Counseling and related services is greatly reduced.  Your safety and continued improved, well-being is the driving factor for all of our decisions and services.

  • Can I get prescriptions sent to my usual pharmacy?

    Yes, we will be happy to to have your prescriptions sent to the pharmacy of your choice.  The only exception would be if you were to require  medications immediately and your pharmacy is one that does not provide 24/7 care.

Appointments and Scheduling FAQ

  • I need help, but your office is closed. What should I do?

    You have several options depending on the nature of your situation. If it's an emergency, call 911. Otherwise, you can request an appointment on our website, or you can call us at 859-687-9563 and leave a message for us to call you back as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. You can also come in as an unscheduled walk-in Monday through Saturday from 4:00pm–6:00pm.

  • How long will I have to wait for a walk-in appointment?

    We accept walk-in appointments from 4:00pm–6:00pm Monday through Saturday. The wait time for you to be seen will vary on how much walk-in traffic we have that particular day. However, we guarantee you will be seen by one of our service providers before our office closes.

  • The office is open, but it's before/after walk-in hours. Do I need to make an appointment?

    You can walk-in at any time but we cannot guarantee you will be seen outside the 4:00pm–6:00pm time frame that we leave open for walk-in appointments. However, we will see you as soon as we have a provider with an open time slot.

  • What if I can't make it to a scheduled appointment?

    Our staff understands  that sometimes life gets in the way and appointments must be missed. Whenever possible in these cases, please call us at 859-687-9563 or email our office to let us know that you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • I need immediate care. Can I make an emergency appointment?

    Depending on the emergent nature of your needs. you may have to call 911 or other emergency service numbers if your needs cannot wait. However, if your needs are not emergent, critical. or life threatening in any way, you may come in during our walk-in hours or call ahead to check availability.

  • Is there public transportation available to get to your office?

    Yes, Oliver Winston is centrally located along the LexTran South Broadway bus route.

Billing FAQ

  • What insurance plans do you accept?

    Oliver Winston providers contract with most major insurance companies. However, you may wish to contact your insurance company to verify Oliver Winston is in network with your specific plan, and to verify your specific benefits.

  • Can you tell me how much my co-pay will be?

    Co-pays are determined by your insurance carrier and are expected at the time of service. Payment may be made by check, credit card or cash.  Please bring your insurance card with you at the time of your visit. We will verify your insurance benefits at the time of your visit. Unfortunately due to the nature of insurance, we cannot guarantee payment from your insurance carrier. It is the responsibility of the patient to secure referrals and authorizations if required by your insurance plan.

  • Can I set up a payment plan for services at Oliver Winston?

    Payment plans are an option but would need to be discussed with the billing department.  Depending on the balance, half of the payment for each service is usually expected upfront, with the remaining balance being broken up into installments of up to three months. Specific rules and guidelines will be determined on an individualized case by case basis.

  • What if I don't have insurance?

    You can call us at 859-687-9563 to  discuss the possibility of treatment through the documentation of financial hardship. At a minimum, Oliver Winston can offer hardship if you meet ALL of the following criteria:

    • Annual income less than or equal to 300% of the federal poverty level (as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)
    • Minimum balance of $50.00
    • Proof that you have applied for Medicaid and have been denied
    • Completion of Oliver Winston financial hardship form with proof of income and supporting documentation
